The Town
Cannes is the "star" of the French Riviera, famous for the International Film Festival and the
glitzy hotels, cars, beaches and visitors attracted here. Cannes can also provide a relaxing
beach side holiday without the need to drive
and yet provide all the glamour, shops and
restaurants if required. The apartment is so
well situated that you can access all the best
parts of Cannes in a few minutes walk. It
would be a shame to visit the South of France
without experiencing the city for yourself.

The city of Cannes is centered around the old
port, with the central part quite compact. The
famous "Croisette" is the boulevard and the
beach that extends around the bay to the east
of the port, in the protected "Rade de Cannes".
Out around the point at the west side of the port, the Boulevard Jean Hibert runs along the coast
to the west, with even more fine sandy beaches. The Rue d'Antibes is the main street running
east-west through the center of the city, becoming the Rue Félix Faure at the bottom end, past
the Allée de la Liberté and the port.

From the "Palais des Festivals" in the west to
the Port Pierre Canto in the east, the Croisette
unrolls like a fresco in a symphony of colours.
It boldy declares its elegance, with its luxury
hotels, its Festival, its shops with their famous
names...

The Rue du Antibes
Just as coquettish as the Croisette,
and parallel to it, it offers a host of
showcases to enchant you when
you go shopping : perfumeries,
jewellers, florists, ready-to-wear,
confectioners, tea shops...

Cannes... Its wonderful bay, its idyllic climate
ans the mildness of its sky prompted the world
Yachting authorities to choose Cannes in 1859
as their "playground". Each race or regatta is a
festival of comradeship...

But the Big Blue offers other pleasures too :
water-skiing, parascending, sailing, driving an
off-shore racer, or the thrills of scuba-diving.
